Ayşe Orhon, who is known as a dancer/choreographer, participates iDANS this time with a video installation in which she confronts herself "face to face" in order to explore the micro-processes of expressions.
In this work Ayşe Orhon addresses the expressivity of yawning which involves both tension and release: while the face, the throat, the diaphragm and the heart muscles reach maximum contraction, the act also reveals boredom, ennui, and weariness through the releasing of energy by which the experiencing subject is somewhat relieved. The choreography addresses the ambiguity of such an act, as it resembles other emotional expressions such as those of anger, suffering, and disgust, and explores its affective and creative potentials.
