WHILE WE WERE HOLDING IT TOGETHER

Ivana Müller is back in iDANS, this year again with a witty work that invites our imagination to dance! While We Were Holding It Together creates a flow of images in becoming, always changing, sometimes lingering. Is this a rock band on tour? A depiction of a picnic in a forest? A hotel room in Bangkok? Following a series of enigmatic tableaux vivants, we imagine and reinvent the relationalities of the bodies on stage, where stillness incessantly reveals multiple times and narratives.

Ivana Müller makes investigative and uncompromising theatre, scrutinizing many concepts and ideas that are usually taken for granted. In While We Were Holding It Together, a tribute to the power of the imagination, she subjects notions such as body, mind and the relationship between the two to a closer inspection. This results in a poetic, humoristic and philosophical production that draws the audience into Müller's personal crystal clear logic. [...] While We Were Holding It Together is a game of "guess what this is" quadrupled: the text keeps shedding a different light on the image and compels the audience to keep embracing a different interpretation of the scene. - Fleur Bokhoven
